We are looking for shows that celebrate the best of the podcast medium, rewarding programmes that create high-quality, episodic content, consumed by their subscribers and podcast app listeners.

To that end, judges will be asked to reward entries with an appreciation of the podcast audience and medium, and that do so on consistently: week in, week out.

For those that entered last year, we have highlighted changes to the entry process in black.

Programmes (and audio submitted) for the main awards must have been produced in Great Britain and Northern Ireland and published between 1st January 2017 and 31st January 2018 inclusive and must predominantly be made in the UK or designed for the UK

Entrants must have at least six episodes published during the qualifying period: this is because we want to inform listeners of great British podcast series, rather than short-run or one-off works.

To qualify for the Listeners' Choice Award, a podcast must have been available during April and May 2018, with at least three proper episodes published.

Audio from the entries must have been available to download via RSS from the qualifying period, and must still be available at the time of the awards.

Each entry MUST be a single MP3 (or WAV) and include material from three separate episodes from within the qualifying period, unless otherwise stated, with clear fade in/out between extracts. You may use a maximum of five clips in your entry.

Entries should be predominantly in English.

Maximum 20mins per entry. It would help us if you could keep a lossless version (for example .wav or .aiff) available. We may ask you for it at a later date.

Written submissions should be no more than 200 words. In addition, we welcome listening statistics and tracklistings.

Each nominee must sign a release and licence agreement providing British Podcast Awards with non-exclusive rights to present submissions in their entirety (or through clips we make) to promote the awards, both on the British Podcast Awards site and via other media outlets.

If copyrighted content forms part of the entry, details of agreement should be shown before the night of the awards.  (i.e. is music used is creative commons, PRS licence purchased... using clips as fair use)

Conflict of Interest: individuals or companies directly involved in production and/or sponsorship of these Awards must alert us to any conflicts. We may choose to exclude and entry in certain categories; any potential conflicts of interest will be decided by the independent Chair of Judges.

Any disputes will be resolved on the principle of Equity.

Judges’ decisions are Final.
